Arriving in England
Rossall is twenty minutes away from Blackpool airport and one hour away from both Manchester and Liverpool airports. The nearest train station is Blackpool North.
You should arrange to fly a direct flight to Manchester if this is possible. If it is not, there are frequent connecting flights from London to Manchester. If you are worried about travelling alone, ask your parents to contact the airline who will be able to provide you with assistance, especially if you have to change planes at London or another airport before you arrive in Manchester.
Our meet and greet service operates from Blackpool, Manchester, Liverpool and Heathrow airports or from local railway stations. This is included in the fee. (The service from Heathrow airport will incur a cost of £250 for the return journey). You will need to fully inform the Summer School of your arrival details.
If you request Rossall to arrange transport, you will find the driver waiting for you in the Arrivals Hall after passing through Immigration and Customs – DON’T FORGET TO COLLECT ALL YOUR BAGS. The driver will be holding a ROSSALL SCHOOL SIGN: he will then bring you straight to Rossall. The journey from Manchester will take between 55 and 75 minutes depending on the traffic.
Forms for completion to arrange a taxi from the airport or station, will be included in your information pack.
We can also arrange hotel accommodation for parents who accompany their children to Rossall. Forms for these services will be included in your Information Pack.
